Our client is seeking a Field Service Engineer who will play a crucial role in ensuring maximum efficiency of PV systems through day-to-day operation and maintenance services.
This position offers the opportunity for a Field Service Engineer to join a rapidly growing team of industry-leading professionals in an industry that is poised for continuous growth.
Within this exciting opportunity, you will work on a variety of projects, ranging from domestic to commercial and utility scale. Focusing on conducting technical reporting and maintenance tasks, representing the company during installations and electrical inspections will be a crucial element within the role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the management team to supervise and execute, planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and new installations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, testing and remedial work on solar PV/BESS/EV systems.
  • Comply with company procedures, including performing preventative maintenance as per PPM plans.
  • Provide comprehensive, timely reports adhering to company  standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities through CRM or manual reports.
  • Prioritise safety by adhering to HSE procedures, participating in risk assessments and complying with fire and health regulations.
  • Assist with major installations and commissioning.
  • Take full ownership of assigned sites and maintain relationships with subcontractors.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Field Engineer/Electrician.
  • Utility scale solar/BESS/EV construction, installation, and maintenance experience.
  • Inverter maintenance experience.
  • High Voltage (HV) switching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure (e.g., LAN, routers, switches).
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Flexible travel availability.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent time-management and punctuality.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective workload prioritisation.
  • HSE awareness.
  • Passion for renewables.
  • Strong site experience and hands-on mentality.
  • Approved electrician in the UK.
  • Recognised electrical qualification.
  • CSCS, ECS card holder.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for projects.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with high voltage systems, 33Kv is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using IT equipment, good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Diligent and knowledgeable approach to Health and Safety
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
  • LV/HV jointers qualifications experience is a plus.

Salary

£30,000 - £40,000
